Thank You for Making a Difference! 10 I was diagnosed with ALS in July 2016. For months leading up to my di- agnosis, I had been experiencing speech difficulties and left-hand weakness. This impacted a job that I loved in sur- gery and impaired my communication with colleagues and family... ALS is a progressive terminal disease with no treatment yet available to sustain a patient long-term. The ALS Associa- tion strongly supports multidisciplinary ALS clinics, including the Duke ALS Clinic that I attend with Dr. Richard Bedlack. They also support research and advocacy, and loan equipment to people who need it. Thank you for joining us in supporting The ALS Association North Carolina Chapter to find better treatments and help make ALS a disease of the past. ~ Karen Lorne Just want to thank everyone for all the amazing work and support. Bruce was diagnosed in ‘98 and the years have taken their toll on us both. But when we can't, we know there is always someone who can...do the walk...speak out....fight for the needs...We never will give up. We will enjoy each day. We are blessed to have our family close and the laugh- ter and hugs and excitement of grandkids make the days so very special. Without God and all of you, we could not endure. ~ Jerri Stevens Thank you! The ALS Associa- tion is a blessing to all those affected by this disease. They have helped countless people including me and my family, and we will forever be ap- preciative. ~ Pam Sizemore You are making a positive difference in the lives of people living with ALS!
