Jacksonville Walk to Defeat ALS
Parade of Hope Event Details
Please note, we will not have an option to walk at the event on Saturday. Participants may drive their car, golf cart, or motorized vehicle in the parade or stand alongside the parade route as a spectator and cheer on the Parade of Hope.
Event Location: Seven Bridges Grille Brewery - 9735 Gate Parkway N. Jacksonville, FL 32246
Parking: Please enter the event at Southside Blvd & Gate Parkway. You will be directed to the correct place to park, based on your participation.
Parade Line-up: Besides our lead car winner, lineup is first come, first serve. If you have multiple cars driving- we strongly recommend you arrive together if you want to be together in the parade. Fun idea - bring candy, beads or treats to toss out to the spectators!
Spectators: If you are meeting someone at the event and riding in their car in the parade, please park in Spectator parking. You will be able to join your team in Parade Line-up. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, etc to make your team comfortable in your spectator box
Event Start Time: Check-in begins at 8:30am. You can start decorating your cars at this time. We will start the parade at approximately 9:55am.
Activities/Entertainment: We will still have so many of the Walk to Defeat ALS activities that we know and love from our traditional Walk events. The St. Mary's Pirates will be there with their cannon. We will also have the Gator Clowns, balloons to pass out, Unlock ALS Keys, Music by DJ Mike Gilbert, and 4 mobile snack wagons full of goodies!
T-shirt Pick Up: We will not have t-shirt pick up at the event on 4/17. Shirts can be picked up on Thursday, April 15th & Friday, April 16th at Seven Bridges Grille from 4:30pm-7pm. You can also turn in any donations too!
Car Decorating Contest:
Best Overall– Car with the best combined spirit and ties to the mission
Best Spirit– Car with the best with ties to our mission. You can write in chalk on your car, use posters, and have ALS or Association facts and figures on your vehicle
Best Mission Moment–Best car all decked out in red. Use balloons, streamers, pompoms and many more - make your car stand out!
Event Day Donations?: If you have donations to turn in, please contact Michelle at MDecker@alsafl.org to arrange pick up!
Covid-19 Safety Protocols:Please follow all CDC guidelines regarding social distancing. PPE will be available upon request.
ALS Florida Radio: Opening Ceremonies will begin at approximately 9:15am. Please download the ALS Florida Radio App to tune in to the program via Bluetooth, through your car speakers. If you are a spectator, please download the app to your phone to tune in.

Your fundraising has gone mobile thanks to the Walk to Defeat ALS mobile & tablet app. Now you can fundraise on the go by sending emails, monitoring your fundraising progress and updating your page.
Only participants who've raised $100 will get a t-shirt. This benefit is awarded to individuals, not teams or donors, so make sure the donations to your personal fundraising record add up!
In addition to working toward one for yourself, you should spread the word to encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to earn their very own shirt.
