Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.

The Local Connection
Your participation in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, we are working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.
Important Update!

The 2021 Walk to Defeat ALS will be a virtual fundraising event. Participants are encouraged to WALK YOU WAY while raising critical funds to support care services, advocacy efforts and research.

Walk Your Way to raise awareness and funds for our ALS community without gathering in person. Teams utilizing Walk Your Way are encouraged to create your own Walk Day activities and participate by submitting your pictures and/or videos, where you’re walking, why you’re walking, how you’re celebrating, etc. Teams can Walk Your Way on the actual Walk Day, or any time before or after. We will live stream opening ceremonies virtually Saturday, August 28th at 10 a.m.

The Tribute Route is a self-led walking route. Instead of a one-day event, tribute signs will be placed along the Bangor Waterfront from Thursday, August 26th through Saturday, August 28. Tribute signs will include messages of honor, love, support, and other dedications for those throughout our ALS community. Teams who wish to participate in the Tribute Walk will be able to do so any time while the route is set up.

No matter where you walk, participants are expected to abide by all CDC, state, local, and venue guidelines.

Thank you for your efforts! Together, we will defeat ALS!
