As Jeremy's illness progressed, his one wish for his family was for a new home. One that would be more accessible for Jason, his son, who is confined to a wheelchair, and one that would make life easier for his wife and other caregivers as his ALS progressed.

Although charming, the Williams' family home was small and provided no handicapped accessible features. This made even simple tasks quite challenging for everyone.

The Martinsville, Virginia, building team for Nationwide Homes was selected at the team to build the home for the Williams family - an they were so proud to be a part, they put their names on the first modular home to ever be built for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

As soon as the word went out that volunteers were needed to help with building the home, the website was bombarded with friends, neighbors and complete strangers who wanted to help! Finally, the builder had so many volunteers, they had to shut down the registration!

By Day Three, the foundation was in place and the modules for the home were being crane-loaded into place. Within one day, the entire set was set up.
