2021 is the 9th year for Rosenthal Family + friends to participate in a Walk to Defeat ALS.
2021 is the 7th Walk since Rose Ann passed away due to ALS. Starting in 2012, friends of hers from Canada where she was born, NYC, NJ such as from Temple Beth El - Somerset (NJ) where she lived 1969-2013 joined as "Team Rose Ann."
Our fundraising goal is to "defeat" ALS. We're 'lucky' as Lou Gehrig once said as we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease + fund medical research. Our team raises money to support people with ALS, spread awareness + find a cure. Please consider joining our team or choose a Team member to donate to.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is 'a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease' that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Why Help is requested: Every 90 minutes a person in the U.S. is diagnosed with ALS; every 90 minutes another person will lose their 'battle' (die). ALS occurs across earth with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. There is no definitive known cause(s) [though for certain soldiers / athletes there are reasonable theories].
