Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatment and a cure. Our team has walked in 2008 - 2015, We want to walk each year because we can. We were robbed of our Vicki by this cruel disease. We want to help fight and assist others by walking to Defeat ALS. Please consider joining our team in the Walk to Defeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. We went through the horror watching and learning what this disease does and lost Vicki in right at a year in May 2009. Please Donate right now.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. Our Vicki was diagnosed in April 2008 and is one of those in the 90 minutes and in May 2009 she was one of those in the 90 minutes. Help us support the fight. Please Donate right now.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones more than $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
In Memory of Vicki
Born and raised on the westside of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vicki always had a smile and very caring and giving. She loved to give hugs with wide open arms and you knew when hugged and talked to you, it was true, caring, and sincere. She was founder and president of Vicki's Closet and a member of Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene and the Beth Moore Bible Study. She worked at Westbrook Church of Nazarene in the Church Day Care. Vicki has been very active in Church as Sunday School Teacher and other leadership roles.
This cruel diseased robbed us of being around her joyous and the loving person and has impacted family, friends, and the people she worked with, worked for, and I am sure she touched the lives at ALS too.
Vicki did walk in the ALS 2008 walk and that photo of her on the Team Captain page is that day. Vicki would want us to help in this fight and we need your help.
