It is year number “4”for our team TOBIN'S SeALS (Seeking to End ALS). The ALS walk not only raises money toward research and a cure but also aids those with the disease to meet the costly demands of care for this disease.
My husband Jim continues the fight against this disease. He will not give up no matter how much it continues to take from his ability to function each year. Jim is blessed to still have his voice and be able to eat - so many with this disease do not. The challenges he faces on a daily basis would seem insurmountable to most of us yet - he prevails!
Jim and I hope those of you that are blessed with good health will join our fight to find a cure and help those struggling with ALS. This is your opportunity to help a friend - stand at his side- and let him know he is not alone in this fight.
I am sending this letter to you in hopes that you will join our team TOBIN’s SEALS this year and donate to help us find a cure for ALS. Jim was blessed with the support of more than 40 team members last year at the walk and donations of more than $10000! Hopefully all of you will join our team again and help us reach our goal this year of $10,000!!!!
Jim fights each day to be a part of this beautiful world – please join him! Your support will help him find the strength and hope he needs to continue to wage his war against ALS each and every day.
This year due to COVID -19 there will be no formal walk. It is scheduled for October 31st. Instead, ALS of Texas, is encouraging everyone to create their own walk in the form of signs in your yard, a bike ride, short walk in your neighborhood, just to let everyone know about the campaign we are waging against ALS. Post photos on facebook, email friends, - let's flood these sites to raise awareness of the need to fight this disease and help those afflicted with it.
