TEAM HOPE will again be participating in the Knoxville Walk To Defeat ALS event. This year it will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019. This will be our team's ninth anniversary of participating in this commitment to raising awareness and funding for the ALS Association.
We walk in HOPE that someday a cure will be found for this horrible disease. We also walk in HOPE that someday more services will be available for patients, their families and caregivers. Our family has been struck and devastated by this disease twice.
In 1991, my dad, Bob Stoutt, passed away from ALS at the young age of 54. Our family lost a husband, father, brother, and uncle. We also lost a future with his sons in laws and grandchildren. My Mom was only fifty years old.
In 2014, our family felt the horrible sting of ALS again when Jim Gary (Mom's husband of 18 years) passed away from complications of ALS. This time, two extended families endured the disease and all it's frustrations. Along with my Mom, Jim's children, step children, grandchildren and extended family grieved the loss of James Gary to this difficult disease.
We welcome anyone in our circle of family, friends, church and community to walk with us - either in person or virtually to help raise funds for this disease. To help others who have heard that dreaded diagnosis: "You have ALS."
We ask that you consider a donation to this cause. All donations are so appreciated. Thank you for all your past support and prayers!
Sincerely,
Annie Stoutt Cacheiro
