PRAY | WALK | DONATE | PRAISE
OUR DAD, ROY, WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ALS IN NOVEMBER 2019. WE'RE PARTICIPATING IN THE "WALK TO DEFEAT ALS" FOR HIM.
PLEASE JOIN US AS WE:
- PRAY for a cure, for new treatments to slow progression + improve quality of life, & for all those who have been affected by this disease.
- WALK to raise awareness about ALS.
- DONATE to fund ALS research & aid families struggling to make the necessary adaptations for living with ALS.
- PRAISE God for a diagnosis (finally!), for His perfect peace, for His strength to endure, & for blessing us with such a supportive & loving community.
Thank you for helping us reach our Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure (financial information included below).
Please consider joining our team in the Walk to Defeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.
When you JOIN OUR TEAM, you will receive your own website to share with others so that they can donate to you as you commit to walk. The funds you raise will contribute to our team goal.
You can also choose to DONATE instead of joining & walking. To do so, select someone on our team to donate towards. Each donation to any team member help us reach our team goal. Be sure to indicate if you'd like your donation to be kept anonymous.
We recognize that due to COVID, getting together to do a REAL walk is not possible. Instead, our family will be walking together & sharing on social media. If you decide to join our team, you can walk at home, at a local park, or even inside your own house! Our goal with this is to raise awareness about ALS, so be sure to help us spread the word!
We leave you with these words that have been a comfort to our Dad as he continues in his battle against ALS:
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus... And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7, 19.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." - John 3:16-17
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments a cure. Will you join us?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
