My Outlet is a team made up of family and friends of Ken Lombardo of Huntingtown, MD. He served for the US Army in Korea in 1969. Ken was always an incredibly active man, whom you could find on a roof - under a basement - working in the garage - taking apart an engine - picking grapes to make wine - or on a boat! He loved to be doing any and everything he could everyday.
Ken married his high school sweetheart Donna, who he spent 44 years making amazing memories with. He and Donna had three daughters: DawnMarie, Kristina and Amylynn. He enjoyed spending his free time with his girls. He was the Grandpop to 4 spirited and smart boys: David, Tyler, Logan and Brayden. He cherished his time with his grandchildren and loved watching them grow! Ken had an amazing group of friends that he enjoyed driving crazy with his famous projects!
Ken was diagnosed with ALS in August 2012. The diagnosis was devasting to him and all the people who loved him. But he didn't let the disease get the best of him, he pushed his limits everyday trying to maintain as much of his physical abilities as possible. In December 2012, he had a devastating fall that resulted in major spinal surgery. After the fall, Ken's progression with ALS went alarmingly fast.
Ken lost his fight September 2, 2013 (Labor Day). He is missed terribly everyday. His wife, daughters, son in laws, and grandkids miss his warm smile, his big laugh and huge heart. We are thankful to have had him as long as we did, but 64 years just wasn't enough.
Please help us raise money to find a cure to end this disease. No person should ever have to feel the pain of this disease. It infuriated Ken that there were "no answers" to this disease.
