We are participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, October 12, 2019, to do our part in the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. As you know, my brother, Russ, died in April of 2015 as a result of ALS. I'm hoping you will join our team, TEAM RUSSELL LANGE, and walk in honor of my brother, Russ.
ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need.
Help make a difference and donate or join Team Russell Lange on October 12. We will meet at 9:45 am on the grounds of the Washington Monument (17th & Constitution). The Walk will start at 10 am. Look for our group in green "TEAM RUSS" t-shirts. I'll have a TEAM RUSS t-shirt for you too. After the walk, I hope you can join us at our house for lunch.
If you're unable to walk with us on the 12th, please consider making a donation. Thank you and we hope you can join us on the 12th!
