As you know, Eileen Harris passed away from ALS on March 21, 2018, shortly after her 67th birthday. She is remembered as a superstar mother, daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, teacher, artist, poet and overall great person who lost her life to a horrible disease.
Research for ALS has gained momentum, but currently there are ZERO effective treatments for ALS (either to slow down progression or cure the disease). We are raising funds and walking to raise awareness of ALS and hopefully find a cure!!
Please consider joining our team in the Walk toDefeat ALS® or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.
Amyotrophiclateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, and it costs an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need (with little to no support from insurance/Medicare). Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
