We are excited to participate in our 3rd ALS Central Valley Walk on October 28, 2018! We are looking to make this year bigger and better than ever! Team Pop Rocks continues to be a huge part of supporting the ALS Association and welcome anyone who would love to join us.
On November 18, 2017 we lost Pop (Brian Coulter) to ALS, just 14 months after he was officially diagnosed with ALS. We walk in memory of Pop and in support of all of those who are affected by ALS. Team Pop Rocks continues to be a staple at many run/walk events in the Central Valley and Central Coast. We are so lucky that Pop touched so many lives and we will continue to keep Team Pop Rocks rockin just as Pop loved!
We are so excited to see you all at this year's walk and raise money and awareness for the ALS Association! Please join us at this year's walk at Woodward Park on October 28, 2018! If you can't join us please support the team with any donation that you can make!
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
