Our team is walking in memory of Catherine Eck. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to all of us. As a family, we would like to honor her memory and life, as we walk together to raise awareness for others who may be experiencing the effects of this terrible disease within their own families.
Catherine was diagnosed with ALS in December of 2011 and passed away in May of 2012. When she was originally diagnosed, it came as a shock to everyone in the family. As strong as she was, she knew she was entering a battle that she would not be able to overcome. During this trying time, she showed nothing but faith, love, perseverance, courage, and positivity. Even in the worst of times, she continued to be the best wife, mother, and grandmother that she could be. She was taken from us way too soon, but her endless love, positive spirit, and remarkable strength remain with each of us.
We hope that you will consider making a donation to our team to help others affected by ALS. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.
Amyotrophiclateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
