Walk Day Details
The Texas Walk to Defeat ALS is on Saturday, October 30. With both in-person and at-home options, you can join the Walk to Defeat ALS YOUR WAY! Register in your city, then walk where you want! We've included everything you need to know about walking at home below. If you'd like to join us at the in-person Walk in San Antonio, here are all the details.
The Live Opening Ceremony will feature the National Anthem, our Unlock ALS presentation, and teams from across Texas. After joining us, start your Walk!
Host your Walk to Defeat ALS in your neighborhood with your friends and family – Walk, run, ride, or drive to defeat ALS. You can also encourage team members to host their own Walk to show support from afar.
Want to be featured during the Live Opening Ceremony?
We invite you to join us LIVE to show our ALS Texas community how you’re celebrating the Walk to Defeat ALS. Fill out this form to receive a link to drop in LIVE. You can also tag your photos with #ALSTexasWalk on social media, and we’ll be featuring those at the end of the program.
Walk Team Captain Pick-Up Day
Team Captains - Pick up your Walk to Defeat ALS lanyards, paper keys, t-shirts and any other Fundraising Recognition items your team has earned before the Walk to ensure your team is fully prepped for Walk day. Below is your city’s pick-up time and location.
Thursday, Oct. 28 + Friday, Oct. 29 (8am-4:30pm)
15301 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd Ste A, Pflugerville, TX 78660
Contact Jennifer Beckett at 512-745-0400 with any questions.
To thank you for your incredible support, we’ve put together a few gifts for each level of individual and team fundraising.
When your Team Captain picks up their items, included will be lanyards, each a different color to indicate your relationship to ALS. During our Opening Ceremony, you wil hear from teams from across the state who represent each part of our ALS community. One day, we will unlock a cure for ALS.
Yellow - I am a person with ALS
Blue - I am walking in honor of someone who has ALS
White - I've lost someone to ALS
Red - I support the cause and want to defeat ALS
Ideas for Your Walk
Join Our Meet-Up - If you would like to walk with other teams, there is an informal meet-up at 9:00am on Sat. Oct. 30 at the United Access parking lot (15301 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd Ste A, Pflugerville, TX 78660). Get to know other teams and walk together in support of our community.
Walk Around Your Neighborhood - This is a great way to include your community and spread awareness. Map out your route, and decorate your front yard for a celebration after your Walk.
Visit a Park - Find your favorite park nearby and invite close family and friends. Map out your route, and decorate a picnic table for a celebration after your Walk.
Have a Car Parade - In true pandemic fashion, car parades can be a great way to celebrate the occasion. Decorate your front yard and invite your local fire department to really put on a show!
Stay Home - Just because you’re indoors, doesn’t mean you can’t still walk! Create a fun route, complete with snack stops and dance breaks.
We’ve put together walk-themed songs for you! Find the playlist at alstexas.org/playlist.

Fundraising tools at your fingertips
We've Gone Mobile!
Your fundraising has gone mobile thanks to the Walk to Defeat ALS mobile & tablet app. Now you can fundraise on the go by sending emails, monitoring your fundraising progress and updating your page.
Only participants who've raised $100 will get a t-shirt. This benefit is awarded to individuals, not teams or donors, so make sure the donations to your personal fundraising record add up!
In addition to working toward one for yourself, you should spread the word to encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to earn their very own shirt.
Make sure you become of a fan of our Chapter on Facebook to receive information about fundraising contests, shout outs to outstanding teams and walkers, and important Walk Day details!
