About the Walk to Defeat ALS

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people across the country bring their determination, energy, and passion to the Walk to Defeat ALS^® . This is an opportunity to bring hope to people with ALS, to raise money for a cure, and to join together to fight for something we care about.

What started as a small group of concerned citizens has now grown to a nation-wide campaign with more than 175,000 participants annually. Since 2000, the events have had continued positive growth and have raised over $182 million toward our vision - a world without ALS. The Walk to Defeat ALS^® empowers people with ALS, family, friends, and the community to fight back against a disease that often leaves many feeling powerless.
