Of Goal

Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.

The Local Connection
Your participation in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, we are working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.

Grand Strand Walk Family,

Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of people living with ALS, their families and their caregivers. People with ALS are a high-risk group and we believe it’s important to ensure that they, their caregivers and their family members stay safe. Therefore, we are postponing our 2020 Grand Strand Walk to Defeat ALS. As an Association we are adhering to the latest CDC guidelines published that all events of 50 or more people are postponed/ canceled for the next 8 weeks due to the Coronavirus.

When these guidelines are lifted, we plan to come together to celebrate the amazing work you all have done for this community and our patients living with ALS. Let’s continue to lift each other up and to stay positive in these uncertain times. The ALS Association South Carolina Chapter is open and available to meet your needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out. For specific health or Care Services concerns April Bandy-Taylor can be reached via email at: abandy-taylor@scalsa.org or by phone at (843) 910-6061.
