It’s that time of year again… time to think about walking in the ALS walk and raising funds to support those who are currently battling this horrific disease.
On Saturday, August 21, 2021, we are again walking to raise money for the ALS Association of Upstate NY in memory of our beloved son Joe. The walk will begin at 11:00am at Otsinango Park, Binghamton. We invite you to either join us in person or spirit!
Register to walk and/or donate by clicking the link “Join our Team” link or you can register in person at the walk' In person registration begins at 9:30am.
In 2007 Joe led team “Zooneyfest” in the Syracuse walk. We know he would be proud to see his family and friends continue to raise funds to cure this devastating disease and help those who are currently fighting this battle.
Remember to mark your calendar for Saturday, August 21st and join us in our quest to raise funds and awareness of this crippling disease.
God Bless You,
Diane and John Zunic
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments a cure. Will you join us?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
