We are participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS for the 4th consecutive year in memory of our wife, mother, sister, friend, and colleague, Maria G. Sanchez. Together, we are carrying on her legacy of unwavering faith, fearlessness, determination and love. With your participation, #MariasALSWarriors will make finding a cure for ALS a reality and will help all #PALS (person with ALS) in our region receive the support they need.
Please consider joining our team in this year's Walk to Defeat ALS and/or choose a team member from the list to donate to our cause.
On behalf of all #PALS and their families, we thank you for your consideration and support during their toughest battle. On behalf of Maria and her family, we thank you for ensuring that her battle will make a difference in ending ALS.
Why We Need Your Help
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.
