Once again, it is time for our ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Fundraising Walk. The walk will be held at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville on Saturday, September 12, 2020. The address is 4901 Bradshaw Road, Knoxville. Registration begins at 9:00am and the short walk starts at 10:00. Last year all of you raised over $5,000.00 in Mike’s honor for a cure. That was well beyond what we ever dreamed. There were 68 of you who attended the walk last year and because of that, Mike received the “Rookie of the Year” award. After this time of friends not being able to see friends Mike, more than anything, would love to see you at the walk. ***Donation information is at the bottom of this letter.
This disease has progressed in my body in the last year. Some days I need to use my BiPap all day long for breathing and some days I don’t need it at all. My upper muscles that allow me to hold my head up are gone so I am not able to look you in the eye and muscles in my arms have deteriorated so much I can’t shake your hand. My legs are still perfect so I am able walk on my own. Mary has to dress me and feed me but I am still in control of the remote control. :-) On October 19, 2019, we had a special addition to our family. Jessica and Marcus had a little girl, Brier Grace Williams. She is such a joy to watch. I can’t hold Brier in my lap unless someone else holds her. I can’t wrap my arms around her and I can’t rub the many rolls on her legs unless someone moves my hands for me. Fortunately, I still have my voice and I can talk to her.

August 1, 2020 will be the deadline for the order. You DO NOT have to have this shirt to walk but it sure looked cool last year as we were walking. The cost of the shirt is rounded up to $20.00 and the few dollars over the price of the shirt will go to ALS. The shirt is the same design we had last year.
