Thank you for helping us to reach our Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That's why we're walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: "You Have ALS" again. The key to a cure begins with you. Your support means so much to us!
Your participation in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, we are working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.
Please consider walking and or donating to our team in Jim's memory. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
Thank you for your support. We love you all.
