Due to dangerously high levels of smoke in the air, with air quality levels ranging from unhealthy to hazardous, and unpredictable weather forecasts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2017 Southern Oregon Walk to Defeat ALS®. The health and safety of our people living with ALS, walk participants, event sponsors, volunteers, and staff is of utmost importance. This situation is unprecedented in our chapter’s history, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.
Though we are extremely disappointed and concerned for everyone impacted by these fires, the mission continues and we will not let these fires dampen the spirit of the Southern Oregon Walk to Defeat ALS®. Even though we will not be coming together at Bear Creek Park this Sunday, we can still work together to meet our goal of raising $40,000 in support of the fight against ALS and the community it affects.

More than just a few-mile trek, the Walk to Defeat ALS® is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, to raise money for a cure, and to come together for something you care about. The Walk to Defeat ALS® is The ALS Association’s biggest annual event, which raises funds that allow our local chapters to sustain care services and support research for much of the next year.
