Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for helping me honor my mom Judy Reeves in an effort to reach my Walk to Defeat ALS(TM) fundraising goal! This is an exciting opportunity for us to work together in honor of my mom to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease. I encourage you get your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers involved!
About Judy Reeves:
My mom worked for GPISD as an elementary secretary for over 20 years. Previous to that she worked as a teacher’s aid. She volunteered her time with the PTA holding all officer positions. Mother of 2, grandmother of 3, and wife and friend to husband Lloyd, mom was dealt the crushing blow that she had ALS in October 2008.
Mom was told to retire and take full disability benefits. She refused. She was already scheduled to retire in the summer of 2009. Instead of retiring early she made it a point to finish her career on her terms. That she did. Mom was able to retire with full honors in June of 2009. A big retirement party was held at her school in her honor.
Today mom spends her time going to Texas Rangers games, traveling to Las Vegas, Colorado, and local Casino's in the DFW area. Although she cannot do everything she used to be able to do, she still pushes forward living life.
Mom will be at the walk with us and we would love to see you there. If you cannot walk we would really appreciate your donation to the ALS cause. Together we will find a cure for this disease.
Visit our personal website for more information about my mom and what we are trying to do. Be a part of the effort to both celebrate Judy Reeves and to also raise money for the Walk to Defeat ALS.
Sincerely,
Toby Reeves (Loving Son)

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
