On April 4th we will walk in The Jacksonville Walk to Defeat ALS to honor Michele deCraen who was diagnosed with ALS. I hope you will join team Michele’s Angels as we walk in her honor and in solidarity with all the brave men and women who are currently fighting ALS, and to provide critical funding to enable the ALS Association to continue its work. Please consider walking or sponsoring me. I cannot think of a better way to show our love to Michele than to take this opportunity to help raise money to find a cure for this non-discriminating and incurable disease. If you cannot participate in the walk, please donate. With everyone’s help we can meet or surpass the fundraising goal and we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by the disease.
Why We Need Your Help
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
