The sixth annual Ride and Walk to Defeat ALS takes place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 starting and ending at the Yountville Veterans Home. This exceptional event combines four scenic bike routes along with a walk to raise funds and to increase awareness of ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Participants raise money to support the mission of The ALS Association: to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global, cutting-edge research, and to empower people with Lou Gehrig's disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
About the Ride: The Ride to Defeat ALS is not a race, it’s a spectacular fundraising ride through the Napa Valley. We offer four routes to create the cycling experience that’s right for you. Whether choose to ride 10 miles or nearly 100 miles, you will travel a route fully supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer you on!
About the Walk: The Walk takes place on the grounds of the historic Veteran's Home. The path is both wheelchair and stroller friendly.
