Hey all,

As some of you know, we have been training for the 16th Annual Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS, which is taking place in September! This is our third year participating in the 62-mile cycling event to raise awareness and money for the ALS Association Golden West Chapter, which specifically goes towards discovering treatments and a cure for ALS and supporting people in California and Hawaii who are living with this disease.

If you're not familiar with ALS, it's also often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, known as what Stephen Hawking suffered from, and what the proceeds from the viral ice bucket challenge went towards. It is a progressive neuromuscular disease that slowly rids the body of it's ability to walk, speak and eventually, breathe. Every 90 minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with ALS, and sadly, every 90 minutes another person loses their battle against this disease.

Supporting this charity is particularly important to us because Team Gold Beach member Laura was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. We are extremely lucky she is with us, actively fundraising, and is benefiting from new treatments that have been discovered thanks to donations through organizations like the ALS Association.

Our family team is looking to raise $10,000 by participating in this year's event! Any donation makes a big difference and are hugely appreciated! Thank you so much for visiting our page and your support!
