2018 Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS and Walk

Why I Ride...

I will be participating in The ALS Association Golden West Chapter's 13th annual Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS and Walk to support my mother, Ingeborg. She died of ALS at the age of 79 in August of 2018 after a year and half struggle with this horrible disease.

She had a great ability to connect with people in a very meaningful way. Her positive spirit, sparkly personality, and infectious energy will be missed.

Ingeborg was born on Bryn Farm in Oslo, Norway in 1939. She spent a year as an exchange student in Oregon in the fifties and then went on to the University of Oslo to study languages. She had a long and successful career in teaching, was a pioneer in e-learning, and became President of EDEN, a world-wide e-learning organization. She was awarded an honorary silver medal by King Harald in 2009 for her leadership and service to the community. After retiring she became the President of Seniornett Norway and ran her own consulting practice.

She loved to travel the world or spend time at family cottages in Valdres and Risør.
