Murphy's Might

 Hello Family and Friends,
Murphy's Might rides again! On December 9, 2017 we will participate in our fifth Ride to Defeat ALS, a 25 mile bike ride through Indian Rocks Beach, FL.  ALS (or Lou Gehrig's disease) is a degenerative muscular disease.  Patients with ALS typically live between three and five years after they have been diagnosed, currently, there is no treatment or cure for ALS.
We are inspired by brother in law, and Uncle, Tom Murphy, who was diagnosed with ALS in December, 2010.  Since 2010, Tom has not only fought the disease in his body, but has made huge strides in bringing ALS to the attention of our law makers and ALS research companies world-wide.  Tom has brought people together to help find treatment and a cure for ALS.  He continues to communicate with the leaders of each of the ALS research organizations who have received over a hundred MILLION dollars from the Ice Bucket Challenge.  Tom is insisting that each research company be accountable for the dollars and work collaboratively to find a treatment and cure for ALS.  With the windfall of dollars, this is ACTUALLY A POSSIBILITY!!  While fighting this debilitating disease, Tom has made his voice heard by those who can make a difference to find a treatment and cure.  Tom believes that together, we will find a cure.  This is Murphy's Might.  So many of you have supported Murphy's Might in the past, your support is making a tangible difference.  We are truly grateful for your support.
Maggie created her 8th grade technology project to describe the issues facing her Uncle Tom.  Maggie is now a freshman in college.  Striving to raise awareness and funds is very important to her.  This is her video posted on youtube.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cv8Q5CgiaE
Maggie and I have also participated in the ALSA Walk to Defeat ALS, rode in ALS TDI's Tri State Trek and will continue to MOVE for Tom.  For those of you who live in Tampa, please join our team!  Please join us to help raise awareness and funds to find treatment and cure!
