ALS Awareness Fundraiser ( Jay VT)ALS Awareness Fundraiser (Jay, VT)Created by Jo McKayInspired by Jim Glabicky "Proudly, Jay Peak Resort, with support from the ALS Association Northern New England Chapter, invites you to spend the day with us on Saturday, February 11, 2017 to increase awareness of ALS, and to help in the fight against it. "The idea for this event grew out of love for an important member of the Jay Peak community and a Jay local for 20+ years, Jim Glabicky. After being diagnosed with ALS in December of 2015, Jim has been an inspiring, positive force for all to see. He is a former groomer here at the resort, avid snowboarder, and has always loved being in the woods. He has been a competitive classic race car driver of a 1964, (802), Datsun and, as proprietor of Pioneer Landscaping, he has beautified many properties in Chittenden and Orleans counties. What Jim loves the most, though, is spending time with his son Olin, his family and his friends. "Recently, Jim has been working hard with our amazing and supportive Adaptive team here at Jay Peak in an effort to return to the snow. Please join us, on or off the snow, on February 11th, along with Jim and the Jay Peak Adaptive team, to celebrate, to bring awareness, and to raise money for this important cause,. "There will be a raffle and a silent auction from 10am-5pm at the Bull Wheel bar located in the Stateside Lodge . Items will include Jay Peak golf passes, a pair of Jskis, concert tickets, and many other awesome donations from local people and businesses. Music will be brought to you by our friends Ben Farney and Hornbeam from 4-7pm. There will also be ALS bracelets sold throughout the day to help spread awareness. Please come spend a day acting like a local, supporting like a local, and caring like a local member of the Jay Peak community."
