Tricks of the Trade: Tips to Ease Daily Living Challenges
August 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time

As ALS progresses, the simple activities of daily living can become a challenge. Amber Ward, OTR/L, BCPR, ATP will provide insight on how to reduce common daily living challenges associated with ALS.  Ms. Ward will provide practical advice on how to navigate eating and bathroom activities. She’ll also dive into how to stay active with your favorite hobbies such as gardening or fishing.

About the Instructor
Ms. Ward is a masters-level prepared, registered occupational therapist with more than 20 years experience.  She is board certified in physical rehabilitation and holds the RESNA Assistive Technology Professional Certification.  An adjunct professor at Cabarrus College of Health Science, numerous professional medical journals and textbooks have published her work. In addition to serving as President of the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association, Ms. Ward also provides clinical services to families at the Carolinas Healthcare ALS Clinic in Charlotte, N.C.
