To understand the complexities of genetic mutation in ALS, scientists require a large enough sample size for their findings to be statistically significant. Thanks to your generosity during last year’s Ice Bucket Challenge, scientists in 15 different countries are now working to map the entire ALS genome in search of a new treatment.

Thank you to the record breaking number of ALS advocates who joined us in DC from May 10-12 for National ALS Advocacy Day and Public Policy Conference. More than 1,100 advocates, including 131 people living with the disease, made an impressive showing for one of The Association’s most exciting annual events. In addition to raising awareness of ALS, everyone who participated, either in DC or virtually, helped advance legislation to improve the lives of people affected by ALS and speed the fight to find a treatment.
