Accelerating the drug development process is vital to help people with ALS gain timelier access to potential new therapies that may slow or stop the disease process. Thanks to your generous support, The ALS Association has gathered experts from across the entire ALS community to create drug development guidance that will be submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to create a new roadmap for hope and progress in our fight against ALS.

As we welcome a change of seasons, we must also prepare for an unwelcome visitor, the influenza (flu) virus. Some people, especially children, the elderly and those with certain health conditions like ALS may experience serious health complications if they contract the flu virus. That is why it’s important for people living with ALS, as well as their family and caregivers to talk with their physician to see if they might be good candidates to receive the vaccination.

Insurance usually does not cover all of the expenses that life with ALS requires. Thanks to your generous support, The ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter is able to launch a Care Services Grant Program that will offset the cost of expensive but much-needed equipment or services that dramatically enrich the lives of people coping with ALS.

The ALS Association is constantly working to ensure our frontline professionals provide the highest quality care and support to those we serve. That is why The Association recently hosted a nationwide gathering of Care Services professionals to provide a unique forum to share successes, ideas, and plans to shape a future that offers an even wider selection of programs and services to benefit people affected by ALS and their loved ones.
