The ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter

  

The ALS Association Rocky Mountain Chapter is able to provide invaluable care services to people with ALS free of charge through the generosity of others. In addition to our Care Consultations, Multidisciplinary ALS Clinics, Equipment Loan Program, Support Groups, and Quality of Life Grants we provide education to the ALS community through our Monthly Educational Series, Annual Symposium, and ALS 101- Newly Diagnosed Workshop. Monthly Educational Series

Monthly educational virtual events that are focused on how to live with ALS. The presentations are held on Zoom and open to anyone with ALS, family members, friends, healthcare providers. Local experts are brought in to present on topics related to living with ALS. The Education Series presentations in 2021 included: Medical Aid in Dying, Powered Mobility, Understanding Genetics and ALS, Virtual Learning Lab, and Home Automation. Future topics to include Home modifications, Legal Matters, Understanding Clinical Trials, Veteran’s benefits, and Palliative & Hospice Care.

ALS 101- Newly Diagnosed Group

This four-part series is designed to provide information on ALS, resources, care planning and insurance. Meet the Care Service staff of the Rocky Mountain Chapter, learn about the services the Chapter provides, and participate in an open forum with a local neurologist answering general questions about ALS. The following sessions will then focus on adaptive equipment & mobility, private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, other sources of funding, review of important legal documents for consideration, preparing for change, and care for the caregiver, along with available community resources. This series is presented twice a year; February/March and July/August.

Annual Ask the Experts Symposium

The Ask the Experts Symposium provides the opportunity to listen to a variety of experts present on topics related to ALS, meet other people living with the disease, and talk with representatives from local community resources about products and services that may benefit you or a loved one.
