Is the Walk an In-Person Event?

For our ALS community’s safety during the global COVID-19 pandemic, The ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter adheres to guidelines established by the CDC and state, county, and city health officials. Given current guidelines, we will continue to offer a hybrid option for all events. We will have our in-person event at all four Walk locations, and will also continue supporting those who choose to walk on their own. We will continue to monitor the situation, and consider what might be possible should circumstances change, and keep you posted along the way.
Through Walk Your Way, participants everywhere can celebrate the Walk, knowing others across the region are walking in solidarity on the same day. Bring your team together in a way that works for you, take photos, spread the word, and make new memories

How Do I Get Involved?

Can We Still Gather on the Day that the Walk Has Historically Taken Place?

Teams and participants have control of what Walk Day looks like. We encourage Teams to participate how it works best for them. If you prefer to come to the park and participate with other teams, we would love to see you in person! If you are more comfortable walking on your own, or with your own small group at another location, let us know! We can offer you support, make sure you have any lanyards, t-shirts and supplies ahead of time. And don’t forget to share your pictures with us!
We hope that as many Teams as possible will participate on Walk Day to make this the biggest Walk to Defeat ALS we have ever had!
