THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

As of Friday, August 29th, The ALS Association’s national office and its 38 chapters have received a stunning $100.9 million in combined donations compared to $2.8 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 29). These donations have come from existing donors and over 2.2 million new donors to The Association. The Central & Southern Ohio Chapter has seen a tremendous increase in donations during this same time period, receiving $560,000 versus $111,000 in 2013.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has participated in some way in the Ice Bucket Challenge – either by taking the challenge and dousing yourself with cold water as a way to raise awareness of ALS, or by making a contribution to our organization, or both.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFT!

The unprecedented level of awareness and financial support the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has generated means people are finally talking about ALS and even taking steps to learn more about the disease that takes a life every 90 minutes. For that, we thank you again.

Now what?

At our Chapter, we’re committed to continuing to deliver on the three pillars of our mission: 1) Providing care and services to ALS patients and their families. This is where the lion’s share of our donations are invested. 2) Supporting The ALS Association’s global research program that is conducting cutting-edge research in search of treatments and a cure for ALS. 3) Empowering our patients and volunteers to work with national and local legislators as well as government agencies to advance legislative policies that benefit ALS families.

Your generous support means we can do even more to deliver on our existing mission-critical priorities in the areas of care services, research, and public policy.

Rest assured that people with ALS, their families, and their caregivers, are at the heart of everything we do and your commitment helps ensure that they are never alone. Whether in our own backyards or on a global scale, The ALS Association is committed to providing compassionate care and support, and creating a world without ALS. Thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge and thanks to YOU, we are that much closer to our goal.

We are humbled by the outpouring of confidence and support afforded to us through the Ice Bucket Challenge and we are 100% committed to responsibly stewarding every dollar donated to The ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter. We are so grateful for your partnership.
