In Loving Memory of Father Dennis
Father Dennis often said, "We don’t get to choose what we get in life, so we have to make the best of it.” And make the best of it he did—Father Dennis taught us to live filled with joy and with love no matter what. We walk to honor his memory and to continue the journey we began with him to find a cure for ALS.
There are several ways you can participate: SIGN UP to walk by joining Team Father Dennis. ASK family, friends, associates to support you. DONATE or Sponsor someone who is already walking.
Why Your Donations Matter
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease and it costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Your donation will help in the advancement of new discoveries and treatments for those affected with ALS.
